After two years of Covid disruptions, we are proud to announce the return of the Franklin Fun Run on Friday, May 6th. This will be the 40th  annual Franklin School Fun-Run.

The Fun-Run is a 5-kilometer road race in which almost all 1st-6th grade students participate. We will begin the race at 9:30 A.M. at Franklin Park (807 W 600 S). Some students run the entire course. Others walk or combine walking and running. The course can be walked in less than an hour by those who keep moving at a good pace. See the attached map for the route.

Medals are awarded to the first, second, and third-place boys and girls for each grade level. These medals will be presented at the end-of-year award assembly. Only Franklin 1st – 6th-grade students are eligible to win a medal. No student bikes, scooters, skateboards, or roller blades will be allowed.

Parents are invited to participate and run with their children. Parents may check-in and get a nametag from the main table at the park on the day of the race.

Most students will participate in the Fun Run, however, if a child does not wish to participate, their parent may complete the parental excusal form by clicking the link below to excuse their child from participating. The school will have a study hall for all those who are not running. Children attending study hall will have tasks for them to work on that will be provided by their teacher during the Fun Run (about 60 minutes). This is not intended to be a punishment.

Después de dos años de interrupciones de Covid, nos enorgullece anunciar el regreso de Franklin Fun Run el viernes 6 de mayo. Esta será la carrera divertida anual número 40 de la Escuela Franklin.

La Fun-Run es una carrera de 5 kilómetros en la que participan casi todos los alumnos de 1° a 6° grado. Comenzaremos la carrera a las 9:30 a.m. en Franklin Park (807 W 600 S). Algunos estudiantes corren todo el curso. Otros caminan o combinan caminar y correr. El recorrido puede ser recorrido en menos de una hora por aquellos que siguen avanzando a buen ritmo. Ver el mapa adjunto para la ruta.

Las medallas se otorgan a los niños y niñas de primer, segundo y tercer lugar para cada nivel de grado. Estas medallas se entregarán en la asamblea de premiación de fin de año. Solo los estudiantes de Franklin de 1° a 6° grado son elegibles para ganar una medalla. No se permitirán bicicletas, patinetas, patinetas o patines de estudiantes.

Los padres están invitados a participar y correr con sus hijos. Los padres pueden registrarse y obtener una etiqueta con su nombre en la mesa principal del parque el día de la carrera.

La mayoría de los estudiantes participarán en Fun Run, sin embargo, si un niño no desea participar, sus padres pueden completar el formulario de excusa de los padres haciendo clic en el enlace a continuación para excusar a su hijo de participar. La escuela dispondrá de una sala de estudio para todos aquellos que no se presenten. Los niños que asistan a la sala de estudio tendrán tareas en las que trabajar que les proporcionará su maestro durante la carrera divertida (unos 60 minutos). Esto no pretende ser un castigo.
