Franklin Teachers Are Lifelong Learners
The Leader In Me program focuses on changing culture in a school toward a productive mindset. It’s built on Steven R. Covey’s world famous 7 Habits for the Highly Productive, and works to integrate those habits into the administration, faculty, and– ultimately– the students of a school.
This program is a big deal. At its core, the Leader In Me ingrains an attitude of self-empowerment into the mindsets of students that can be life altering. A mindset that gives students the tools to accomplish any goal they set out to achieve.
But first, before the teachers can empower their students, they must empower themselves.
From 8:45 to 3:00, a handful of teachers and administrators learned about and began applying the principles to their own work. They discussed how they can use the 7 principles framework to help support the programs set in place to help students. For the whole of the day, the teachers became students. Learning, it turns out, is a lifelong endeavor.
This next year will be an exciting time for Franklin. We want our students to have a leadership mentality, and this new program will help each student achieve that. And our teachers will be hard at work to bring it into their lives.
