So, school is out for the four day weekend. Rain is falling and the kiddos are getting a bit stir crazy.

Here are some ideas of things you could do at home while you are out of school!

Prodigy-Most students have Prodigy Math accounts with their class! They can login and practice math problems at the rigor set by their teachers. It also includes a diagnostic test for teachers to know the child’s placement for grade level! Find it at https://play.prodigygame.com/

IXL-All grade levels have access to login to IXL for Math Standards and have additional practice, while grades 3-6 also have access to Language Arts Standards. This is a great way to practice skills that they have already learned, as well as have access to ones that they wanted to learn about! https://www.ixl.com/

Khan Academy-Not all students have created an account on this website in their classes. It’s a free website with classes for students to learn about anything from math for their grade level to computer science. Parents, you may want to help supervise which classes they are signing up for, as there are classes at all kinds of levels, so they may need help choosing a class that is good for them! Get a free account at https://www.khanacademy.org/

No internet? No problem!

Come up with a story starter as a family and have all the kids finish it in their own way! “It was a dark and stormy night. Three good friends wandered through the woods, anxious to get home, when…”

Make something new! Find a material and have kids invent a tool that could help them finish something around the house!

There are lots of things you can do with your kiddos. Enjoy your day off and we’ll see you tomorrow!
